1. Remove User as Administrator

  • First, log in to your computer with an administrator account.
  • Next, make sure the account you are trying to delete, has not been signed in yet.
  • So, press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
  • Type netplwiz and click OK to open the User Account window.
  • Here you can view all user profiles in the available system.
  • Now, click to select the user profile you want to delete> Click Remove.
  • You should be able to see the prompt ‘Are you sure you want to remove the selected profile’?
  • Just click Yes to continue.
  • When you’re done, restart your computer, and check whether the ‘Profile not Deleted Completely’error on Windows 10 has been fixed or not.

Next, type SystemPropertiesAdvanced and hit Enter to open System Properties.

You can click on the Advanced tab> Click on Settings next to User Profiles.
From the Users Profiles menu, select the profile that you want to delete.
Click the Delete button and confirm the process.
Finally, restart your computer and follow the steps above again to go to services.
Here make sure you right-click on the Windows Search service again and then click Start to enable it. [Do not forget this step]

3. Delete Data From Registry Editor

In the case that you are unable to delete a user profile on your Windows 10, you will need to delete the remaining data or the rest of the Windows Registry Editor. Sometimes residual files can also cause several issues to the process to complete. To do this:

First, open File Explorer on your PC > Go to C:\Users location.
You can right-click on the problematic user profile > Select Delete.
Press Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Then, type regedit and click on OK to open the Windows Registry Editor.
Next, go to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Once you are on the Profile List, you will be able to see a few entries.
Just click on each entry and check ProfileImagePath data.
If it matches the user profile with the problem then right-click on the profile and select Delete.

4. Delete Unkown Account

Please make sure deleting a Windows user profile may not actually remove each file. Even if you recently deleted a user profile, it may be shown as an ‘Unknown Account‘ in the user profile list. Deleting it:

Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
Following, type sysdm.cpl and press Enter to open System Properties.
Click on the Advanced tab> Click on Settings next to the User Profiles.
From the User Profiles menu, select a specific profile named ‘Unknown Account‘.
Click the Delete button to delete the associated file from a specific user profile.
When you’re done, make sure to restart your computer to apply the changes.

Finally, you can check whether the ‘Profile not Deleted Completely’ Error on Windows 10 has been fixed.
